Heading to European soil this week, the tour heads back to Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort in Farsø, Denmark. It’s known for it’s party atmosphere which is somewhat like a Phoenix-Open-lite especially at the par-3 16th which is where a lot of action takes place (room for 3,000 fans to view the hole).
Previously holding a spot in August on the schedule, this will be the first time we’ve seen it moved up to May.
The course is a par 71 that plays under 6,900 yards. Another short layout which is exposed to the elements. Some call it “inland links” for that reason.
The event was played at Silkeborg Ry last year but Himmerland has hosted four previous editions. It’s averaged 71.69 (+0.69 RTP) during that stretch. With steady winds in the forecast, I would expect another tough test by week’s end.
You can have a look at the Fantasy Golfanac for more about the course setup.
For turf, we have bentgrass greens this week.
