Australian PGA Championship Fantasy Preview

The European (World) Tour heads to a few continents this week after a stop in Hong Kong last week. Now they are in Africa and Australia. This will focus on Australia and I will touch on Mauritius in the morning.

Heading to the RACV Royal Pines Resort for the fourth year in a row, we have some history on this venue.

Royal Pines is a par 72 that plays just under 7,400 yards. It’s a few miles from the coast so steady winds are to be expected. The scoring environment will be directly correlated with the winds this week.

For grass types we have bermudagrass that are stimped to run at just 10 feet (SLOW).

The course was redesigned in 2015 and the grasses have been slow to mature but Adam Scott touched on that issue last year, saying they were starting to mature nicely last year.
