What’s your take on DeChambeau? He’s the #4 ranked amateur and is getting a decent amount of hype for Bay Hill as a sleeper but I think mainly people like his style and swagger. He’s a news story for sure with a ton of talent. But how well do you think his game matches up with Bay Hill?
I think you’re spot on that gamers are attracted more to his style than his actual game at this point. His performance on the Euro Tour in 12 rounds has been 0.36 Strokes Gained per round. That’s similar to a Cameron Tringale or Matt Jones, for example.
In eight PGA TOUR rounds, he’s losing 0.278 strokes per round.
I think there will be plenty of opportunity to invest in the future, so I’m limiting my exposure for now.
