Playoffs! We’re talking about Playoffs! It’s that time of the year where you can ignore everything that has happened up to this point. Time to put on your big boy pants and focus one week at a time. If you are currently in the playoffs then you probably don’t need any of these pickups, but you never know when injuries strike. So, here are some pickups that may help you win in Week 14. As always, all these players must be available in over 50% of Yahoo! Leagues.
Colin Kaepernick – SF vs. MIA (49% Owned)
Kaepernick got the yardage last week but didn’t capitalize with touchdowns. Now he faces a very friendly Miami Defense, and he won’t let the scoring opportunities slip away. Look for 250 yards and a couple of Touchdowns. A great value play at a lot of DFS sites as well.
Chris Givens – STL vs. NE (30% Owned)
Givens has been a big play threat all year year but now he is developing into a Target Monster. You got to love a Wideout that gets a lot of attention but can also burn the defense deep for 50 yards at anytime. Owning Givens could really pay off for owners as they enter the Playoffs.
Kenny Britt- TEN @ IND (48% Owned)
Britt has 13 targets and two touchdowns over the last two weeks and now faces a Colts defense that loves to give up big plays. Britt has been a huge disappointment for owners this year but he may be coming around just when owners need him most.
Montell Owens – JAX vs. NYJ (18% Owned)
Runningbacks keep falling in Jacksonville so would it really be surprising if Owens got injured in the first quarter this week? Maybe it says something about the offensive line? Probably not, it’s probably just bad luck. Either way, Owens will be the man by default. I guess that means he’s worth a shot if you’re desparate, but don’t set your expectations too high. There is a reason Owens went to Maine, and there is a reason he was undrafted.
Vick Ballard – IND vs. TEN (46% Owned)
It’s amazing that I am still able to use Ballard in these columns week after week. Ballard has been a solid RB2/FLEX play for weeks now yet he is still owned in less than 50% of Yahoo! leagues.
Dallas Clark – TB vs. PHI (23% Owned)
Clark has been playing like its 2005 all over again, and now he is at home against the Eagles. This fits perfectly into my favorite situation of Tight Ends playing at Home in games they should win. This is usually when Tight Ends excel, so look for 50+ yards and a TD from Clark.
Cleveland Defense vs. KC (41% Owned)
The Chiefs came up big last week and had an emotional victory. Now they have to travel to Cleveland and are in a huge letdown situation. This one could get very ugly, and the Browns defense will benefit the most.
