It’s Week 13 so your fantasy team is either in the Playoffs, fighting to make the Playoffs, or playing the spoiler role. Hopefully it’s the first of the three. But, hey, bad luck happens. Injuries happen. If you are still fighting for the Playoffs or want to spoil another teams Playoffs hopes, then check out the following pickups for this week. As always, all these players must be available in over 50% of Yahoo! Leagues.
Colin Kaepernick – SF @ STL (47% Owned)
Kaepernick was once again named the starter which will make the decision to go back to Alex Smith that much harder. As long as Kaep puts up a decent effort and gets a double-U against the Rams, he should continue to be the starter. I’d expect about 235 yards passing, 35 yards rushing with 2 touchdowns.
Davone Bess – MIA vs. NE (35% Owned)
Two weeks ago I said that Bess would join the list of must-own receivers. He has compiled 179 yards and a touchdown in the two games since. Not too shabby for a player still owned in less than 40% of leagues. It won’t get any harder this week against a weak Patriots secondary. Look for 50+ yards and another touchdown from this speedster.
Danario Alexander – SD vs. CIN (48% Owned)
DX has quickly become Rivers favorite target. 26 targets over the last three games, yup. The chemistry is obviously there, so continue to ride the wave.
Jacquizz Rodgers – ATL vs. NO (48% Owned)
This guy has been a favorite of mine all year, so why not now against a weak Saints Run Defense? Exactly. Rodgers role has steadily increased throughout the season, so he could be a very good play this week as I could see both Rodgers and Turner giving their owners 10+ point weeks.
Vick Ballard – IND @ DET (37% Owned)
Mike Vick Ballard is not a safe play by any means, but if you are desparate then take a chance. Ballard has been getting around 16 touches a game over the last four games but Donald Brown is getting healthier with each week.
Jacob Tamme – DEN vs. TB (33% Owned)
The Broncos should be able to pass all over the Bucs this week, and Payton still loves spreading the ball around. Dreessen is a decent option as well, but Tamme actually has two more targets over the Last 4 Broncos games. That’s why I give Tamme the slight nod over Young Dreesy.
Carolina Defense @ KC (18% Owned)
The Panthers are playing the Chiefs, enough said. The Chiefs easily have the worst Adjusted Yards per Attempt in the NFL. This is a huge indicator of scoring points, therefore the Panthers should allow less than 21 points this week, and the turnovers generally create themselves vs. a team like the Chiefs.
