Quarterbacks dropped like flies, undefeated teams went down, and the Tennessee Titans became the first team to allow 300 points this year. That sums up all the unimportant things that happened in Week 10. Fantasy Football is not about the past, though, it’s about right now. What will you do for me THIS week? If you have followed this column all year, then you probably own Alfred Morris, Mikel LeShoure, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Jonathan Dwyer, Titus Young and have been frustrating your opponents week after week by picking up the perfect Defense. I really think Devone Bess might be the next name to add to that list of must-owns. Here are some more roster additions that are available in more than 50% of Yahoo! Leagues.
Nick Foles – PHI @ WAS (14% Owned)
I know we featured Foles in the Sit’ Em column this week but if you are really desparate then he also has high reward potential. Unfortunately, his potential for an absolute stinker makes him a risky play. If you like to live dangerously, take a chance on Foles, you could strike Foles Gold.
Davone Bess – MIA @ BUF (27% Owned)
Saw a stat that Bess is the only player with 40+ receptions without a Touchdown on the season. That’s got to change sometime, right? If Bess had two or three TD’s on the season he would be owned in 60% of leagues. Don’t let that one stat sway you from picking him up. The Touchdowns will come.
T.Y. Hilton – IND @ NE (27% Owned)
Donnie Avery ended up playing after all last week, but Hilton still got involved by running for 30 yards. Not exactly beast mode, but you could do worse. Hilton only had one target last week, but that is largely due to the nature of the game. The Colts got up early and didn’t have to throw the ball. Luck had his fewest pass atempts of the season. Look for Luck to revert back to his usual 40 pass attempts, and Hilton to benefit from the extra tosses.
Danny Woodhead – NE vs. IND (42% Owned)
Woodhead is so sneaky quick out of the backfield that he is almost unguardable. His height, or lack of height, makes him very hard to see over the Offensive Line and then he can just pop out on you before you know what hit you. That is why the Patriots keep him so involved in the offense. That is why you should involve him in your lineup decisions.
Daniel Thomas – MIA @ BUF (33% Owned)
This is a Thursday nighter so go pick him up now, ask questions later. The Dolphins are a running team and Thomas has been more involved in the offense with each coming week. Look for 50+ yards and hopefully a score this week from Thomas.
Dwayne Allen -IND @ JAX (12% Owned)
Another week, same Tight End. Allen didn’t get the redzone love I hoped for last week as Andrew Luck went all Cam Newton on the Jags and ran a couple in himself. Now the Colts play an even softer secondary against New England, and Fleener is still out. Look for Allen to show why so many people had faith in him last week.
St. Louis Defense vs. NYJ (25% Owned)
My Defensive streamers have been very successful this year. Both of my previous two recommended defenses have scored 20+ points in standard leagues. With the Marching Mark Sanchez’s coming to town, let’s make it three weeks in a row. This game should be a low scorer, that will likely come down to a Field Goal from one team to win it. Low scoring + Sanchez Turnover Factor = Defensive Streamer.
