		<description>I agree, but in fantasy terms they are pitchers you want to avoid. So, when they do poorly, the Verducci Effect wins.  

While it may be simple regression to the mean in some cases, it may also be a decrease due to an injury they are pitching through.  Afterall, these pitchers are all young, and coming off an inning workload they&#039;ve never seen before.</description>

		<description>The Verducci Effect is not a predictor of diminished returns, but a predictor of injury.  Unless these guys are hurt I see no reason to say this is nothing more than a regression to the mean.  We discussed this today at RotoSavants with Brian Burke from Advanced NFL Stats.
