The 2008 NFL season has been full of surprises and exciting stories. The Dolphins go from worst to first in the NFL East. The Cowboys came out shooting, but ended the season shooting blanks. The Falcons and Ravens have laughed at the “Don’t start a Rookie QB Theory” and have been rewarded pleasantly. Seven playoff teams from last year will be watching from home instead this year, including the perfect Tom Brady-less Patriots. Of course, how can you forget to mention possibly the worst team in NFL History, the winless 2008 Detroit Lions. It’s been an exciting season, but the real action is about to start, the Playoffs, here is a breakdown of what’s to come…
Wild Card Round
Philadelphia Eagles @ Minnesota Vikings
Remember way back in Pre-Season, when all the hype was just smothering the Vikings? Many analysts even picked them to win the Super Bowl… Fast forward to now, try not to laugh, and then enjoy watching the smack down the Eagles Defense is going to lay on the Vikings inept offense.
WINNER: Eagles (17-14)
Indianpolis Colts AT San Diego Chargers
Both teams have been very inconsistent all year, Colts have the better Defense, so mark me down for a Colts Victory.
WINNER: Colts (20-17)
Atlanta Falcons @ Arizona Cardinals
This is a matchup of the two worst defenses of all the Playoff teams, in my opinion. Rookie QB or not, give me the team with the better Special Teams, Atlanta.
WINNER: Falcons (20-17)
Baltimore Ravens @ Miami Dolphins
The 1-15 Dolphins from a year ago have now won the AFC East, but all good things must come to an end. It’s tough to expect a rookie QB to win his first playoff game on the road, but the punishing Ravens Defense will be all that’s needed to bring down the Mighty Dolphins.
WINNER: Ravens (17-13)
It appears to be a good year to be a Wild Card team, as all four Wild Card’s are set to win their first round match ups. However, I don’t see the Falcons or the Colts building on their first round wins.
