This is a continuation on the previous post, and obviously it will be irrelevant if any of those picks don’t come true. However, I will continue predicting away the entire playoffs for the thrill of it:

Divisional Playoffs Round (Round Two)

Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers

Matt Ryan may shock some people by leading the Falcons to a road victory over the Arizona Cardinals, but will run into a buzz saw in round two. The Panthers have the Special Teams to deny the Falcons any advantage in that category, and the Panthers defense will not even blink an eye while shutting down the Falcons offense. Carolina is better in every aspect of the game, have home-field advantage and a bye week leading up to this match up. This one shouldn’t even be close.

WINNER: Panthers (24-13)

Baltimore Ravens @ Tennessee Titans

This matchup will be a close one, no doubt. If you lined these squads up 10 times, I think each team would win five. Neither teams Quarterbacks are flashy by any means, they both just do as they are told. It’s more about preventing turnovers than trying to make big plays for both teams. This will be a grind, but the better defensive team will prevail, the Ravens.

WINNER: Ravens (13-10)

Indianapolis Colts @ Pittsburgh Steelers

When these two battled in Week 10, Payton Manning shredding the #1 pass defense, throwing for 3 TDs without throwing an interception. The beautiful thing about Pittsburgh is they are always in every game due to their Iron Curtain defense. As long as Big Ben is cleared to play in this one, I think the Steelers can take them game pretty easily. That being said, Manning always has something up his sleeve, so he’ll make it look closer than it actually was with a couple solid last minute drives.

WINNER: Steelers (20-14)

Philadelphia Eagles @ New York Giants

I know this is very cliche, but if the Eagles want to win this game they need to control the ball. The season series was split, both teams winning their respective road games. The Eagles need to keep the well-oiled offensive machine known as the Football Giants off the field as much as possible by forcing three-and-outs early and often. When the Giants won in Week 10 they racked up 401 Yards and had 39 minutes Time of Possesion. The Eagles adjusted in Week 14, only allowing 25 minutes Time of Possession and 211 Total Yards. I’m getting a strange feeling that the Giants have a chance to win this game but fall short after a missed FG by John Carney.

WINNER: Eagles (21-20)
