The NFC East will be the most competitive division in football. None of these teams would surprise me if they reached double digit wins. Having said that, I think it will also be the hardest to predict. I think this race will be so close, everything could all be decided by who gets a couple lucky or unlucky bounces. Here is how I foresee the NFC East shaking out in 2010:
1. Dallas Cowboys
Projected Record: 10-6
Fantasy Sleeper: Tashard Choice – RB
Cliff Notes: There is no doubt this offense will be elite. The defense still looks average, at best. If the defense is improved at all, a deep playoff run could be in the works. Tashard Choice could be a monster sleeper if the opportunity for playing time presents itself.
2. Philadelphia Eagles
Projected Record: 9-7
Fantasy Sleeper: Aaron Hernandez – TE
Cliff Notes: The Eagles lost some big names (McNabb and Westbrook), but Kevin Kolb and LeSean McCoy should have no troubles filling in. This defense is still one of the top ten in the league, which will keep them in most games. DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Jason Avant form what may be the best receiving core in nation.
3. New York Giants
Projected Record: 8-8
Fantasy Sleeper: Hakeem Nicks – WR
Cliff Notes: With the loss of Domenik Hicks, Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham should both see an big increase in value this year. After Jacobs dissapointed last year, Ahmad Bradshaw is expected to carry the rushing load. He is nothing to write home about. In general, either is this team.
4. Washington Redskins
Projected Record: 8-8
Fantasy Sleeper: Santana Moss – WR
Cliff Notes: The Skins should certainly improve on their 4 game win total from 2009. McNabb is definitely an improvement at Quarterback. Clinton Portis could be ready for a comeback year now that he’s reunited with Mike Shanahan. There’s not a lot of fantasy stars or sleepers on this squad.
