The first two nationally televised college football games seemed to feature nothing but sloppy offense, but drama was of no shortage on the smurf turf.
Oregon running back LaGarrette Blount seemed to dislike everything about the state of Idaho, including his own players, who happened to be playing a game of football there. Video is below.
If Blount isn’t out for at least the next 4-5 weeks after this unbelievable display of stupidity, Oregon coach Chip Kelly should be ashamed. If Blount isn’t kicked off the team, Marcus Vick-style, by the end of the season, I’ll be surprised. This guy is apparently made of testosterone and TNT.
By the way, there’s a bit of irony in the fact that former Nebraska quarterback Scott Frost – who had to deal with the undeniably degenerate Lawrence Phillips – is the UO coach who ended up holding Blount back from a Ron Artest-inspired fan-brawl.
UPDATE: LaGarrette Blount has been suspended for the remainder of the 2009 football season. This isn’t good for Oregon football, as Blount – who set school records last year – was on the Doak Walker Award watchlist for the nation’s best running back.
