In week two we lost Kevin Martin and Tyrus Thomas to arm injuries. We also found out opting out of European competition is going to work wonders for Dirk Nowitzki. Lou Williams and Rajon Rondo are two young point guards that appear to have taken their game to the next level. Other youngsters that continue to impress are Danilo Gallinari, Marc Gasol, and Andrea Bargnani.

Buy Low

Nate Robinson- Nate Robinson has been dropped in a lot of leagues, and thrown to the back of the bus by many of his fantasy owners.  Nate Rob hopes to return by Wednesday, so now is the time to swoop in to grab some Kryptonite.

Thaddeus Young- The 76ers lost a quality producer in the off-season, Andre Miller.  So far Lou Williams has been hoggin’ all the lost production.  Thaddeus Young shot 49.5% from the field last year, but he hasn’t found his shot quite yet.  Young is shooting a measly 39.4% after six games.  Thaddeus is too good of a player to be held under 45% from the field.  Go acquire him now, and then reap the benefits once he starts playing like a top 100 player again.

Derrick Rose- Watching Derrick Rose early in the season has not been appealing.  As a Bulls fan, it is not fun watching D Rose fall short on all his jumpers, and then start to pass up open jumpers for this same reason.  The reason being fatigue.  Rose’s conditioning is still not up to par thanks to his unfortunate ankle injury during pre season.  Getting his legs back will improve every aspect of Rose’s game.  Ultimately, the Rookie of the Year should only get better as his Sophomore season progresses.

Sell High

Carmelo Anthony- A lot of people were throwing around the MVP talk after Melo opened up the season with 30 pt, 41 pt and 42 pt performances. Then the inevitable happened, and he had a few terrible shooting performances. Now he’s still averaging a solid 31.4 Pts per Game, but J.R. Smith is set to return on Tuesday. Smith is poised for a breakout season himself, and there are only so many shots to go around. So, Melo will likely see a big dip in scoring, and his steals to regress back to his normal one per game. This will mean Anthony’s true value will probably be in the 25-50 range, not the top 10 talent that a lot of people were hoping for after his torrid start.

J.J. Redick- Rashard Lewis is nearing return, Mickael Pietrus is back from the flu, Redick’s stint will be coming to an end shortly. Although, Redick may be “one of the greatest shooters in the universe” according to the Better Basketball videos, he is just not that good of an NBA player.

Lamar Odom & Andrew Bynum- Lamar Odom is benefiting the most from Pau Gasol’s absence and Bynum is too much of an injury risk to keep around with confidence. With Gasol set to return on Thursday, the value of Odom and Bynum are at their peak right now.
