Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI can, and probably will, debate you on a lot of this. Some of the things I picked out briefly scanning this:
-Marc Gasol is starting and he will get more than 22 minutes
-There is no chance Maxiell plays more minutes per game than Stuckey this year
-I don’t know how you could ever even suggest Eddy Curry will get 29 mpg, he will be lucky to play in garbage time this year (barring injuries)
-Also I am curious why you listed so many players for the Wizards but you only listed 8 for the Nets, the Nets basically have two lines and are going to exchange them like the New Jersey Devils
I can see your points, heres my explanation on those:
-Marc Gasol: It is likely that he does start but I don’t see him playing more than 25 minutes/game still, and he’s been pretty mediocre in preseason.
-Maxiell vs Stuckey: Stuckey is 3 years younger and stuck behind Chauncey and Rip. Maxiell is in his 4th year and ready to breakout in my opinion. Rasheed is also the most likely Piston to get traded, which would open up a lot of minutes for Maxiell.
-Great spot on Eddy Curry, I don’t know how I have him getting 29 mpg. I’m definitely gonna go back and re-examine this projection.
-As for the number of players listed for each team, it was kind of just opinionated on who I thought had any chance of being fantasy-relevant at the time. The Wizards rotation is very up in the air in my mind, so I listed more players, on the Nets I see only 8 players that will have any chance to be relevant this year. That being said, I did forget about Brook Lopez.
Thanks for explaining your thinking, I just wanted to see what your thoughts were on those situations. I do think that that Stuckey is going to get more minutes, and here is why:
-There is Rasheed Wallace, Amir Johnson, Kwame Brown, and Antonio McDyess all competing with Maxiell for minutes and like you said there is only Billups and Rip in front of Stuckey
-I think Billups is starting to wear down and is going to be injured off and on through the season
-New coach Michael Curry has said that Stuckey is going to be like a “sixth starter” this year, getting starters minutes as the first guy off the bench
-Michael Curry also said he is going to try and rest his starters more this season and when you are the first guard off the bench I think you are going to get a lot of minutes
This is just my take though, just trying to get some fantasy discussion going on.
