CBB FanDuel Value Report: Saturday December 17th

Finals Week sucks. Even now that I am out of college, it still sucks. It is just another name for No Good College Basketball Week. There is no escaping the wrath of College Finals, that is just a fact. The best way to cope is to look forward to the next College Hoops FanDuel contest, which is set for this Saturday.

Ohio State @ South Carolina – The #1 player here is Jared Sully, but we all know about his back spasms and how he is questionable to play. Right now, you have to avoid him, too much risk. DeShaun Thomas is someone you have to consider adding to your lineup if Sully decides to sit out yet again on Saturday. Kraft and Buford are good plays regardless of Sully’s status. Ohio State allows the third fewest FanDuel points to opposing players, so Malik Cooke is really the only player to even consider from the South Carolina side.

Texas A&M @ Florida – This one should get ugly. Florida is worlds better than A&M. A&M hasn’t given up many FanDuel Points to opposing players this season, but they have also played mostly cupcakes. So, I say go ahead and let loose on Florida players. Beal, Walker, Yeguete, you name it. For A&M, you gotta go with Middleton now that he’s healthy, and Elston Turner is an OK option.

Indiana @ Notre Dame – Notre Dame is so bad. Not just kinda’ bad, really bad. They manage to spread out their suckatude across the entire team. That makes it very hard to pick any Irish players with confidence. However, if you think the Hoosiers come out flat after the huge victory over Kentucky, there are a few players to look at. Want to go with the hot hand? Jack Cooley is your man. He is averaging 40.5 FanDuel points over his last two games. Just be aware that he is capable of a huge dud game as well. Just look at his game Vs. Bryant when he managed 5 FanDuel points. Jerian Grant and Eric Atkins are two other “viable” options. I just finger-quoted viable because they combined to go 0-16 last game. Not a typo, ZERO for SIXTEEN. Or, OH for SIXTEEN if you prefer to say it that way. On the other side, Notre Dame surrenders a lot of FanDuel points. Cody Zeller is an obvious pick, in my opinion. Hulls and Watford are good value picks, especially for under 6,000 FanDuel dollars.

Syracuse @ NC State – The Orangemen will play their first game as the #1 Stunnas. I already mentioned how Notre Dame is really deep, if you are looking for bad players. Syracuse is actually incredibly deep, in a good way. Scoop Jardine’s overall numbers aren’t jaw-dropping but he tends to show up for important games. The first game as #1 on the road might just fit that bill. Dion Waiters just posted a 37 FanDuel game, but it’s hard to forget his 4 FanDuel Point effort against Florida. My point is that Cuse could get a huge game from anyone, and I really have no idea who it will be. Anyone know who it will be Vs. NC State? On the other bench, C.J. Leslie is still undervalued by FanDuel. It’s hard to imagine him scoring any less than 25 FanDuel points in this one. For 7,200 FanDuel Dollars, he is a must-add. Scott Wood will need to knock down a lot of threes against the Cuse Zone if NC State wants to keep this game close. Wood could be a solid play at only 5,000 FanDuel Dollars.

Alabama @ Kansas State – Tony Mitchell is the centerpiece of everything Bama does but he is going to cost you the big bucks if you want to own him in FanDuel. On the other hand, JaMychal Green is very FanDuel-friendly at only 7,800 FanDuel Dollars. Seriously, Green could have a monster game against this Kansas State squad that just isn’t very good. I think you’re stretching it, or pushing your luck if you try to pick any other Crimson Tide players. For K-State, Thomas Gipson has been a stud, posting 59 FanDuel points over his last two games. The Freshman looks like an absolute must-own based on his stats. However, if you take out those three overtimes, he just looks like a good value pick, not a great one.

Georgia @ USC – USC plays at such a snails pace that it makes it frustrating to even look at these players as viable options. Seriously, I’d rather watch a pinata hang on a tree for two hours than have to watch a USC basketball game this year.
