FanDuel = FanDuel Points per Game
FD/40 = FanDuel Points per 40 minutes of court time.

Breakout Candidates

Cleveland Melvin (DePaul) – Melvin was the best Freshman in the Big East last year, but it’s hard to get noticed when your team only wins one Conference game. Melvin was already averaging 20+ FanDuel points per game as a Freshman. Now that he bulked up in the off-season and has a year of experience, he should be easily getting 25+ FanDuel points a night. Put Melvin on your FanDuel roster whenever he is an option; plain and simple.

Jeremy Lamb (UConn) – This one is obvious. Anyone who watched the Tournament last year, knows how much Lamb matured. Lamb is going to step into the role Kemba had last year (take a lot of shots and complain about fouls). Like I said, this breakout is obvious, which means he will probably be overvalued in FanDuel.

Herb Pope (Seton Hall) – Herb Pope is now the #1 Pirate with Hazell graduated. Those are just the facts, Jack. Pope is going to be a Double-Double machine. He will get you 25 FanDuel points… on an off night.

Gorgui Dieng (Louisville) – This one is all about opportunity. As long as Dieng gets 25 minutes a game this year, he is going to be a great FanDuel player. If DeSagana Diop wasn’t incredibly overhyped and drafted straight out of high school, he probably would have been doing what Dieng does. Pulling down 6-6 with 2.5+ blocks per game. Dieng is going to be much improved over last year, just don’t expect miracles.

Mouphtaou Yarou (Villanova) – Will be forced to become more involved offensively this season. Last year, Yarou didn’t even manage 20 FanDuel Points per Game. He should eclipse the 20 mark with just Points and Rebounds this season. Add in some hustle stats and you got 22-27 FanDuel Points per Game.

Gilvydas Biruta (Rutgers) – This 6’8″ Latvian is going to have some nice Double-Double games this year, but he is also going to have a ton of boring stat lines. If you can pinpoint the good matchups for Biruta, you will have yourself a great FanDuel bargain.
