Week 2 was another shoulda-coulda-woulda week for me, as I had Aaron Rodgers (who could’ve thrown for over 600 yards in that pack-it-in-early win over the Redskins if he wanted to), as well as LeSean McCoy and DeSean Jackson, both of whom again put up big numbers. Unfortunately, the rest of my team snoozed their way through the week and I was again left with just a mediocre week; however, I’m taking the positives from picking some major point producers again last week and am totally pumped to dominate it here in Week 3.
For Week 3 in the FFFC Fan Duel contest, I went with Matthew Stafford as my QB. They’re playing the Washington Redskins who can’t seem to stop anybody so far this season. Also, Fantasy Football Nerd has Stafford ranked as the #4 QB for Week 3, but Fan Duel had him in the 10th slot in terms of salary, so I know there’s some serious value there. Add all that up plus an over/under of 50 in the Lions/Skins game and it’ll be fireworks all afternoon in DC.
For RBs I went with Lamar Miller and Chris Johnson. I believe that Lamar is one of the most underrated RBs in the league and I really like the way this Dolphins team is playing right now. I picked Johnson because the Titans are playing some salty good football so far this season and they’ve been feeding Johnson the rock consistently (50 carries thru 2 games).
For WRs I went with Mike Wallace, Wes Welker and Julian Edelman. I took Wallace because I believe the Dolphins will defeat the Falcons at home to move to 3-0, and that Wallace will see plenty of balls thrown his way. I selected Welker because Peyton obviously has been on fire this season and Welker tends to shine in those primetime games, and Monday night vs the woeful Raiders seems like a perfect opportunity for him to shine. I took Edelman because hey, Brady is going to be throwing the ball plenty vs the sloppy Bucs, and he’s got to be throwing it to someone. Also, Fantasy Football Nerd has Edelman as the #2 ranked receiver for the week for PPR, and his salary on Fan Duel is well down the charts. Talk about value!
For my TE I selected Jordan Cameron as my Vikings royally suck at defending against TEs (see Martellus Bennett’s performance last week). I took Blair Walsh as my kicker and the Jets defense.
It’s only Thursday and I already can’t wait for this weekend’s action. Good luck to everyone in week 3.
