Here are the final positional rankings, Centers, for the 2009-10 Fantasy NBA Season. Use these to prep for a last-minute draft, or use them to make some early season trades.
1. Chris Bosh
2. Al Jefferson
3. Dwight Howard
4. Amare Stoudemire
5. Brook Lopez
Notes: The Top Five is a lot about preference and league type when it comes to Centers. In a H2H league and don’t care about FT%? Take Dwight Howard. Not scared of players returning from injury? Take Al Jefferson or Amare Stoudemire. Think Brook Lopez can improve on his stellar rookie campaign? Then definitely snag Mr. Lopez in the Second Round.
6. LaMarcus Aldridge
7. Pau Gasol
8. David Lee
9. Tim Duncan
10. Al Horford
11. Andrea Bargnani
12. Andrew Bynum
13. Andris Biedrins
14. Troy Murphy
15. Mehmet Okur
Notes: This is probably the highest you’ll see LaMarcus Aldridge ranked, I am very high on him. Aldridge finished strong in 2009, and I expect even bigger things from LA with a real point guard, Andre Miller, running the offense. I think Pau Gasol is going to live up to the “Pau GaSoft” nickname this year, because it looks like he’ll be resting a lot. He has played a lot of basketball over the last two years when you include playoffs and international play. Don’t expect Pau to finish in the Top 25 this year. Mike Woodson has stated that Al Horford will be more involved in the offense this year. Great news, boost him up your draft sheet accordingly.
16. NeNe Hilario
17. Luis Scola
18. Emeka Okafor
19. Spencer Hawes
20. Marcus Camby
21. Al Harrington
22. Joakim Noah
23. Zach Randolph
24. Andrew Bogut
25. Marc Gasol
Notes: Spencer Hawes should see plenty of minutes even if he comes off the bench, and should be drafted in the middle rounds of all leagues. Joakim Noah was a three category monster in the second half of last season. If you need FG%, Rebounds and Blocks then Noah is your guy. Could this finally be the year Andrew Bogut eclipses the 15 point plateau? With R-Jeff and Villanueva’s points gone it is looking promising.
26. Elton Brand
27. Greg Oden
28. Carlos Boozer
29. Kevin Love
30. Chris Kaman
31. Rasheed Wallace
32. Kendrick Perkins
33. Samuel Dalembert
34. Roy Hibbert
35. Brad Miller
Notes: Go ahead and let someone draft the over-hyped Greg Oden. His body was not built to withstand a full NBA season. Kevin Love is a monster on the boards. The injury hurts, but he is well worth it if you can hold off for a month without him. If your league doesn’t count Turnovers or you just don’t care about them then Kendrick Perkins is your man. Roy Hibbert had a monster preseason. If you can keep playing at that level then he will be a steal anywhere you draft him without reason. 3+ Blocks per Game potential from Roy.
36. Ronny Turiaf
37. Chris Andersen
38. Jermaine O’Neal
39. Andray Blatche
40. Marreese Speights
41. Antonio McDyess
42. Hasheem Thabeet
43. Udonis Haslem
44. Anderson Varejao
45. Shaquille O’Neal
Notes: Hibbert may be the young gun on the block scene, but Ronny Turiaf and Chris Andersen will be right there with him. Just don’t pout when that’s all they get. Andray Blatche and Marreese Speights are two young guys that could explode if they are given the playing time. Monitor there situations closely.
46. Tyson Chandler
47. Ryan Anderson
48. Nick Collison
49. Matt Bonner
50. Joel Przybilla
Notes: Ryan Anderson looks to have the starting spot in Orlando while steroid boy faces his 10-game suspension. He will be quite valuable in the opening three weeks, but don’t expect any miracles after Rashard returns.
